iOS 26 is finally here and we have it installed on our iPhone. To be honest, after the last few android updates like oxygen OS 15, one UI 7 and even the surprise android 16 update. I thought that android was really getting better than iOS. And now maybe android really needs to work hard.

Why iOS 26 and not iOS 19? So now, the answer is pretty simple. Apple wanted their OS updates to be in sync with the year, which is fine, but it’s 2025, so it should have been called iOS 2025. Right? Design Changes:
Well, let’s start with the biggest change in this Apple copy Android, the design. iOS 25 has a new design inspired by glass and liquid.

And it’s not just the Control Center. If you are playing music and want to unlock the phone, the screen will look a little blurred. The transparencies look good but apple should fix it. Because if we talk about visibility, then it is a bit of an issue.
Lock Screen Changes:
Now if I talk about the lock screen, there are some nice changes here too. Like you can add 3D effect to the lock screen, which looks really good. Android users would know that the notifications are also transparent. And unlike other parts, there is no visibility issue here. In fact, they look really good. Apple also showed a feature where the time automatically changes according to the photo on the lock screen.
App Changes:
There have been some meaningful design changes to the apps. For example, the camera app has been redesigned for one-handed use. Only videos or photos are visible, but when you swipe left or right on the app, you can see all the other options. And there are some cool glass effects. You also get a lens cleaning message. If the lens is too dirty, you can clean it. This is a good thing. At the top, you will find all the options for videos and photos, for which you had to go into the Settings app.
Phone app New Features:
Everyone thinks that Apple copy Android. But there are some new features in it,
1. Dedicated Search Bar
The new phone app is also designed very well. Like favorite and recent contacts all appear in one place. Apart from this, there is also a dedicated search bar at the bottom which was not there earlier. It feels like you are actually using a water drop.
2. Hold Assist
First of all, hold assist, which basically holds the line for you. Suppose you have received a call from someone and he has put you on hold. So, you can keep it on hold assist and do your other work.
3. Call Screening
The third great feature is Call Screening which comes in handy when you get a call from an unknown number. It basically asks for the name and reason for the call and after knowing it, it shows you on the phone and you have to decide whether to pick up the call or ignore it. Although this feature has been copied from Google Pixel. But there is another feature which has been copied from Samsung so that no one feels bad and the feature is live translation. This is exactly like Samsung but it supports some languages.
Redesigned Settings App:
In the settings too, the search bar is at the bottom and the toggle is a little white—something that feels familiar, almost like an Apple copy Android move. There is a new power option, which reduces the display brightness when the battery consumption is more than normal and automatically switches to low power mode when the battery is less than 20%.
But the biggest change is that the iPhone finally shows the estimated charging time, which Android users have been taking advantage of for many years.
Improving visual intelligence in Apple copy Android:
Visual intelligence has also been improved, as it can now do things like circle search. You can take a screenshot of whatever is on your screen, highlight it if you want, and it will give you search results underneath. This is another example of Apple copying Android features, and bringing similar functionality that is already familiar to Android users.
New Game App:
Apart from this, it also has a new dedicated game app, which keeps all your games at one place and you can invite your friends.
Final Thoughts on iOS26 VS Android 16:
To be honest, this is the biggest iOS update ever and the whole redesign is very well thought out. Of course, there are some visibility issues, but Apple will probably fix it since this is still a developer beta.
